Saskia de Coster(Belgium, 1976) in 2002 was elected by Humo and Groene Amsterdammer as one of the ten best writers under 35. Multitalent Coster debuted in 2000 with the story 'Among each other' and in 2002 her novel debut followed, Vrije val (Free Fall). Four novels ensued. Held (Hero)won her the Cutting Edge Award for Best Dutch Language Novel of 2007. Late 2009 her latest novel Dit is van mij (This Belongs to Me) appeared. Coster writes with gusto and soaks her stories - often populated by mavericks who cling to rituals - with a splash of humour. In addition to novels she writes columns. Late 2009 she replaced Aaf Brandt Corstius as daily columnist of NRC Next. Coster is also a visual artist, a video artist and writes drama and lyrics. Saskia de Coster is very active on the international literary stage. In 2005 she took part in festivals in South Africa and in 2009 she toured the Czech Republic. WIN2009
